Week 1 of the college football season can be tricky. A lot of guys put up big numbers, but will those numbers be around when the cupcakes are no longer coming to town? Here are five guys to use this weekend and beyond:

EARL BENNETT
Vanderbilt, WR
Comment: Bennett caught 13 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns against Richmond, eight catches in the first half alone. He probably won't do as much damage against Alabama, but who would complain about six catches for 115 yards and two scores. This isn't your parents' Vandy. They'll put up some points and Bennett will do the honors.

BUTLER BENTON
Cincinnati, RB
Comment: Let the Butler serve you. Benton isn't going to blow anyone away with 300 yard performances week after week, but the Big East Bearcats have a new "go deep" offense and Benton can score from the rush or the pass.

JEHUU CAULCRICK
Michigan St., RB
Comment: Remember his name. The Spartans' new offensive look will pad a few stats and Saturday it was Caulcricks. He had only 10 attempts, but found the end zone four times and had 93 yards. If his job is to take it in short yardage, so be it. He scores, you score.

MARION LUCKY
Nebraska, RB
Comment: You're lucky if you had this guy Saturday. He had the best Cornhusker rushing game since 2002 with 233 yards on 30 carries and three touchdowns, all this in three quarters. He also caught three pass for 33 yards and another touchdown. The Cornhuskers are at Wake Forest this week. Lucky may hauled in 300 yards through the air, as the Demon Deacons gave up 408 to Boston College.

ANTONE SMITH
Florida State, RB
Comment: Smith numbers aren't all that impressive from the Clemson loss (14-90), but the Seminole back looked good breaking tackles and finding places to run. He should be able to carve up a UAB defense that Michigan State feasted on last week.
