PAUL SMITH
Tulsa, QB
Comment: The Tulsa quarterback threw for 307 yards on 22-of-31 attempts in a win against Louisiana Monroe.
JEREMY AVERY
Boise State, RB
Comment: Ian Johnson isn't the only weapon in the Bronco book of trick plays. He had 105 yards on only 10 carries against Weber State.
JAMARKO SIMMONS
Western Michigan, WR
Comment: Simmons quietly caught 14 passes for 144 yards and two scores against West Virginia last week.
DARRELL STRONG
Pittsburgh, TE
Comment: Strong caught three passes for 35 yards and should become an even bigger factor in the passing game with a strong tight end focus.
IGOR IVELJIV
Akron, K
Comment: Looks like the Zips will give him plenty of chances. He kicked three field goals last week.
INDIANA
Defense
Comment: The Hoosiers held Indiana State to a whopping 176 yards of offense and forced six fumbles.
DREW WEATHERFORD
Florida State, QB
Comment: The Seminole signal caller was only 14-of-34 for 142 yards. That won't get it done on Saturday or in fantasy.
JASON LAUMOLI
Hawaii, RB
Comment: It's hard to be a running back in the Hawaii pass-happy machine. The senior had one carry last week.
MARCUS BROCK
TCU, WR
Comment: Penciled in as the Beavers' No. 1 split end, Strougher took a leave of absence after attending an Aug. 7 practice. The senior recently lost two family members, reportedly his reason for the leave. He did show up for an Aug. 25 practice, but may need more time before jumping completely back in.
BRANDON MYERS
Iowa, TE
Comment: Two catches for 12 yards isn't what I'd call a starter for my fantasy squad.
BRET CULBERTSON
Iowa State, K
Comment: Staying in Iowa, the Cyclones can't beat Kent State. That doesn't bode well for anyone, especially the kicker.
NOTRE DAME
Defense
Comment: They gave up 33 points to open the season. Isn't that enough? Happy birthday Anthony Morelli and Penn State Saturday.
Cody Hawkins
Colorado, QB
Comment: A coach's son usually knows how to play quarterback. Hawkins is no different, going 18-for-31 against rival Colorado State with two touchdowns. He did throw one pick, but another couple touchdowns and 250 yards against Arizona State and we'll forgive him.
Dennis Dixon
Oregon, QB
Comment: Dixon had a huge day against Houston last week, rushing 15 times for 141 yards and a touchdown. He threw another two touchdowns on 9-of-15 attempts for 134 yards. If it turns into a shootout at Ann Arbor, Dixon will profit big time.
Mike Hart
Michigan, RB
Comment: The Wolverines aren't very happy. A plummet right out of the Top 25 has made things even worse. Mike Hart should go off on Oregon, who gave up 315 rushing yards to Houston.
Ian Johnson
Boise State, RB
Comment: Believe or not, some people still haven't heard of Ian Johnson. His team will have a tough time against the Huskies, but they should pull it out and he should carry the load. Two or three touchdowns wouldn't be a surprise.
Jordan Norwood
Penn State, WR
Comment: The Nittany Lions may give the Golden Domers another black eye. Despite not scoring last week, Norwood caught the most passes from Anthony Morelli — five for 92 yards. He will almost definitely find the end zone this week.
Riley Cooper
Florida, WR
Comment: Against a cupcake or not, 122 yards on four catches is big time. Quarterback Tim Tebow and the Gators are going to exploit a lot of other teams not named Western Kentucky too, starting with Troy on Saturday.
Kory Sperry
Colorado State, TE
Comment: Funny name, not funny game. The tight end nearly beat Colorado single handedly with three touchdowns and 103 yards on eight catches. Pick him up before he's gone.
Sam Wheeler
Virginia Tech, TE
Comment: Sean Glennon's early favorite caught seven passes for 81 yards and a touchdown in the win against East Carolina. With LSU coming right at him Saturday night, Glennon may be looking for Wheeler again.
Art Carmody
Louisville, K
Comment: If you don't have him yet, get him now. The Card's are going to score a lot and Carmody will benefit. He was a perfect 10-of-10 on extra points and nailed a 44-yard field goal. He has another Thursday game against a soft Middle Tennessee team.
Ryan Bailey
Texas, K
Comment: Though he didn't get a field goal attempt against Arkansas State, TCU defense is good enough to force him to try a few.
Wyoming
Defense
Comment: Utah State only scored 16 against UNLV. They may not score any in Wyoming, the hardest place to play in America.
Kansas State
Defense
Comment: Middle Take away the final 2:30 and Kansas State held Auburn to nine points. The Spartans scored only three points against Arizona State, so the Wildcats figure to be a pretty good pick.
Matt Flynn
LSU, QB
Comment: Flynn got off to a mediocre start against Mississippi State (12-of-19, 128 yards and two TDs). And the Hokies are one of the only defenses able to handle the Tiger athletes. Flynn should be able to pick apart Virginia Tech.
Colt McCoy
Texas, QB
Comment: McCoy and the Horns struggled to beat Arkansas State and TCU knows it. The Horned Frogs kept Baylor out of the end zone. But they won't be able to keep Texas out.
Damien Fletcher
Southern Mississippi, RB
Comment: Fletcher had 156 yards and a score against UT Martin, but UT will consider him a breeze after chasing Deshaun Jackson last week.
Brandon Ore
Virginia Tech, RB
Comment: Ore struggled to 90 yards on 23 carries against East Carolina. The LSU defense doesn't compare to the Pirates, and not in the way the Hokies would like.
Brandon Breazell
UCLA, WR
Comment: UCLA may score a lot of points, but most of them will come on the ground. Breazell won't have the 111 yards he had last week against Stanford against BYU. The Cougars shut out Arizona until the final minute.
Earvin Taylor
Texas A&M, WR
Comment: Fresno allowed only 60 passing yards against Sacramento State. Cupcake or not, that's impressive. Leave Taylor and the rest of the A&M receivers on your bench.
John Carlson
Notre Dame, TE
Comment: Carlson and his pass-catching buddies may not see a lot of opportunities, as the Irish should keep it on the ground to keep Anthony Morelli and Penn State's offense on the sideline.
Colin Peek
Georgia Tech, TE
Comment: As tempting as it is to insert any Jackets into you lineup because of the 33 points they put up against Notre Dame, don't. They may put up a lot against Samford, but not from the tight end spot. Tashard Choice in their choice for the stat book.
Tony Ciaravino
Connecticut, K
Comment: He had 13 points (three FGs) against Duke, but Week 2 opponent Maine allowed only two touchdowns against Monmouth.
Garrett Hartley
Oklahoma, K
Comment: He had 11 points but no field goals against North Texas. But is Miami back? I wouldn't risk not knowing by starting the Sooner kicker. The Hurricanes allowed only three points to Marshall.
Alabama
Defense
Comment: Nick Saban may live up Bear Bryant eventually (or not) but calm down about the Tide defense allowing only six points against Western Carolina. It won't happen against Vanderbilt. Bench the Elephants.
Louisiana Tech
Defense
Comment: It's sometimes popular to pick a home defense against Hawaii, but as long as Colt Brennan is a Warrior, I wouldn't do that.
