HITTING THE JACKPOT

You've got questions and Answer Gal has the knowledge:

Recently, sources reported that Alex Rodriguez and his agent would not even discuss a contract extension with the Yankees for less than $350 million. He has recently agreed to negotiate with a mere 10-year, $275 million deal on the table but, still, imagine $350 million — that is more money than all my readers combined will ever see in a lifetime. Just how could one spend this ridiculous sum of money? Here are my top ten ways:

1. Sponsor 15,401 children from the 'Save the Children' Program for the rest of their lives AND send them all to a 'Hannah Montana' concert.

2. Stuff $1,000 in singles in 350,000 strippers' g-strings.

3. Eat 350 million 'McChicken' Sandwiches

4. Pay Britney Spears' child support to K-Fed for 5,833 years.

5. Buy 280 Bugatti Veyrons.

6. Buy the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, who as a team make less than A-Rod does as an individual.

7. Buy 350 islands off the coast of the South Pacific.

8. Eat the Frrrozen Haute Chocolate (the world's most expensive dessert) 14,000 times.

9. Buy the homes of Oprah Winfrey ($55 million), Hugh Hefner ($50 million), Billy Joel ($35 million), Jerry Seinfeld ($32 million), Eddie Murphy ($20 million), Howard Stern ($15 million), Arnold Scwarzennegger ($12 million), Sylvestor Stallone ($10 million) and still have some singles left over for the strippers.

10. Pay someone who is a more consistent hitter and a better fielder to play for him... and still have some singles left over for the strippers.

If you didn't think this asking price was outlandish and excessive before, what about now?

So, what happened to a player's genuine 'love for the game'? In my opinion, it's disappearance is directly related to Yankees owner George Steinbrenner's deep pockets. All those in favor of a salary cap in the MLB...
