There are rotisserie heroes and fantasy goats. But some performances are so ugly, egregious or plain perplexing that it begs the refrain: What the F--k! Here is Update's seriously twisted moment this week.
Will the Brady Quinn saga go down as one of the more pivotal moments in recent NFL history or will it merely dissolve into an all-but-forgotten footnote? Only Quinn can say for sure. His on-field performance and NFL longevity will speak to whether the Miami Dolphins were right to pass on the heralded Notre Dame signal caller. But right now, the marathon weekend at Radio City Music Hall still fresh, it appears the Cleveland Browns, who traded up to the 22nd pick in the first round to nab Quinn, made a bold move to secure their future. What every draftnik and Dolfan can agree on is that Miami may have reached when it selected Ohio State wideout Ted Ginn Jr. with the ninth overall pick. It wasn't just that the Dolphins passed on a pressing need that shocked then drew a chorus of boos at the official draft party. It was the balls the brain trust in Davie, Fla. showed in drafting a position that wasn't a glaring hole and taking a guy who is considered a raw prospect — and injured to boot. WTF! Miami got a young gun in the second round, BYU's John Beck. Maybe the Dolphins will be proved right in the long run. Maybe Ginn and Beck will form a fantastic duo for years to come. But with the latest Draft barely over, it's the Browns who appear to have landed a star in-the-making in Quinn and the Dolphins who might regret passing on him for the next decade.
