The Tampa Bay Devils Rays have the first overall pick in the 50-round draft, the first time since 2003 and just the third time in franchise history. Outfielder Delmon Young was the choice then, ahead of Rickie Weeks at No. 2 and Chad Cordero at No. 20.
The 10th overall pick in last June's draft was University of Washington righthander Tim Lincecum. He's made quite a splash with San Francisco in the year since. Who has the goods to make the quantum leap from draft pick to the majors from this draft.
The consensus top five players in this draft are: Vanderbilt lefthander David Price, California high school third baseman Josh Vitters, Georgia Tech catcher Matt Wieters, New Jersey high school righthander Nick Porcello and California high school infielder Mike Moustakis.
Just a junior, Wieters, pictured, was an All-ACC pick after batting .359 with 10 homers and 59 RBI. Tune in Thursday to see where he lands.
