POSTED 1-10-08

Our weekly digest of everything fantasy football. Facts don't lie and The Huddle is full of 'em. Projections for the week of Jan. 10-Jan. 13. Stats through Jan. 9:

ELI MANNING
New York Giants, QB
Comment: He just won his first playoff game, and he finally looked like a Manning in doing so. If he keeps this up, we might be in for a Manning vs. Manning Super Bowl.

LENDALE WHITE
Tennessee Titans, RB
Comment: He gained the most yards of any back during Wild Card weekend. It's just a shame the Titans got duffed up by the Chargers.

CHRIS CHAMBERS
San Diego Chargers, WR
Comment: He had 121 yards on six catches. Although he didn't score a touch, those numbers are enough to make any fantasy owner blush.

KEVIN BOSS
New York Giants, TE
Comment: He only had two catches for 14 yards, but he creates opportunities for other receivers. Expect him to amp up his yardage and maybe even find the end zone in Dallas.

LAWRENCE TYNES
New York Giants, K
Comment: Since he doesn't have to deal with the swirling Meadowlands winds, he should be O.K.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Defense
Comment: They shut down Big Ben and the Steelers in Pittsburgh. If they take down the Pats, then they're for real. Either way, they have been hot and peaked at the right time.

TODD COLLINS
Washington Redskins, QB
Comment: He completed only 29-of-50 passes for 266 yards. I bet you never thought you'd hear people screaming for Jason Campbell. In all fairness, if not for a total defensive collapse in the fourth quarter, he'd still be playing.

CLINTON PORTIS
Washington Redskins, RB
Comment: He only gained an un-Portis-like 52 yards on 20 carries against Seattle. He'll have plenty of time to think about before the Redskins next game though.

PLAXICO BURESS
New York Giants, WR
Comment: He only managed four catches for 38 yards against Tampa Bay. The bum ankle has clearly slowed him down, but you can expect him to bust that slump in Big D.

ANTONIO GATES
San Diego Chargers, TE
Comment: Not only did he manage just 16 yards on two catches, but he hurt himself in the process.

JOSH SCOBEE
Jacksonville Jaguars, K
Comment: He did hit the game-winner against Pittsburgh, but he missed an early one that could have put the game away. He's lucky he hit that late one.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Defense
Comment: They got lit up by Eli Manning and the Giants; that's pretty embarrassing.

TOM BRADY
New England Patriots, QB
Comment: He won the MVP and Offensive Player of the Year; this could be the greatest season a quarterback ever put together. Brady will put the Jaguars defense to shame and shred them.

AHMAD BRADSHAW
New York Giants, RB
Comment: He stepped up huge against Tampa Bay. He should do it again against Dallas; pressure doesn’t get to this guy.

AMANI TOOMER
New York Giants, WR
Comment: He accounted for almost half of Manning's passing yards. Count on him to step up huge again in Dallas.

DONALD LEE
Green Bay Packers, TE
Comment: He could be the difference between a loss and victory. A good tight end is priceless, and Lee is just that. Expect him to have a great day against Seattle.

MASON CROSBY
Green Bay Packers, K
Comment: He knows how to kick in cold weather. Trust this guy. He doesn't have to wear heated pants.

New England Patriots
Defense
Comment: Coach Bill Belichick will not let this team lose after going 16-0. Count on this defense to be ready to shut down the Jags.

PHILIP RIVERS
San Diego Chargers, QB
Comment: Bob Sanders and the Indy D will eat him alive, especially without Antonio Gates. L.T. is the only hope this team has to score points.

MAURICE-JONES DREW
Jacksonville Jaguars, RB
Comment: Drew is to the Jags running game what Tito was to the Jackson's. Fred Taylor runs that show now, Drew is second fiddle.

BOBBY ENGRAM
Seattle Seahawks, WR
Comment: The Packers will shut him down. Hasselbeck will not win on the road, especially at Lambeau, so don't expect much from Bobby come Saturday afternoon.

ANTONIO GATES
San Diego Chargers, TE
Comment: He hurt his knee and will not play against the Colts.

JOSH BROWN
Seattle Seahawks, K
Comment: He's wearing heated pants on Saturday. If you need heated pants, you can't come through in the clutch. It's a little known fact. Don't expect Brown to hit many field goals.

NEW YORK GIANTS
Defense
Comment: It's not likely that the G-Men will shut down Tony Romo and Co. There's a chance they could pull out a victory, but it won't be pretty.

Andrew Corselli is UPDATE! National Football League Editor.

274 Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre is making 274th consecutive start, including the playoffs. Needless to say, that's a record.

11 New York Giants wideout Amani Toomer had 74 yards receiving against the Tampa Bay Bucaneers. Eli Manning had 185 yards passing, leaving Toomer 11 yards shy of recording half of his quarterbacks yards.

3 Only three kickers were perfect on field goals this past weekend. New York Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes, Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Jeef Reed and Seattle Seahawks kicker Josh Brown converted all of their field goal attempts.

2 Two quarterbacks recorded their first playoff win last weekend. Eli Manning and Phillip Rivers, ironically these two were traded for each other on draft day.

TOM COUGHLIN
vs. Wade Philips
Comment: It will be fun to see which coach will outsmart the other. I'm just surprised I used the word smart to describe something Tom Coughlin did / will do / will attempt to do.

BRET FAVRE
vs. Mike Holmgren
Comment: Holmgren was Favre's coach for the better part of his early career, they even won a Super Bowl together. It will be fun to see them together again, even if they are on opposing sidelines.

NEW YORK GIANTS
vs. Dallas Cowboys
Comment: You got a classic NFC East rivalry here. This one should be entertaining as the G-Men try to keep their postseason alive. Also, this is the first-ever playoff meeting between these bitter rivals.

SEAHAWKS vs. PACKERS

Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET (FOX-TV)
Favre in Lambeau in Jan. It doesn't get much better than that. Plus, it could potentially be the last playoff start of his illustrious career. Don't miss this one.

JAGUARS vs. PATRIOTS

Saturday, 8 p.m. ET (CBS-TV)
The Jaguars will attempt to be the first team to beat the Patriots this season. Chances are, it's not going to happen, but that's why they play the game.

CHARGERS vs. COLTS

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS-TV)
This one could be an instant classic and is arguably the most exciting match up of the weekend.

GIANTS vs. COWBOYS

Sunday, 4:30 p.m. ET (FOX-TV)
The surging Giants head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. This will be the first playoff meeting between the teams after 92 regular season match ups.
