It's that time of the year again. The NFL draft is just around the corner: we drool over 40-yard dash times, gasp at linemen benching 225 pounds and sit down and watch, perhaps, the most boring televised event of the year. This year's quarterback crop seems less than stellar, but if there's one sure thing about the draft, it's that there is no sure thing:

1. MATT RYAN
Boston College
Comment: He's a good leader that knows how to read a defense and a smart quarterback. He did a lot with a program lacking great talent and virtually carried Boston last season. That being said, he recorded 19 touchdowns to go along with his 4,507 yards and 31 touchdowns last season. He's a sure first-rounder, but I'm not sold on him as a legit NFL signal caller.
2. BRIAN BROHM
Louisville
Comment: Brohm has been a solid quarterback throughout his college career, though he did suffer through a fair share of injuries. The offensive style at Louisville allowed Brohm to throw for a lot of yards without risking interceptions. This guy is a first or second rounder.
3. ANDRE' WOODSON
Kentucky
Comment: He's got the size and speed to play on Sundays, but some questions about his mechanics have been raised. He threw 71 touchdowns and only 18 picks his junior and senior years, so he could be the real deal. Look for Andre' to go in the second round.
4. CHAD HENNE
Michigan
Comment: He's a big guy with good arm strength and the ability to throw a nice deep ball. However, some of his decision-making is questionable and he is prone to costly mental lapses. Henne will probably be a late second-, early third-round selection.
5. JOHN DAVID BOOTY
USC
Comment: He only has two years of starting experience at the college level and was surrounded by a lot of talent as a Trojan. He can be inconsistent at times and struggles with decision-making. However, he does have a porn star name and that makes him a stud. Look for JDB to be chosen mid-third round.
6. JOE FLACCO
Delaware
Comment: Flacco threw for 4,263 yards, 23 touchdowns and only five picks last season. Keep in mind this was at Delaware. Joe didn't face top-notch competition, and that leaves something to be desired from a quarterback. Don't expect Flacco to be chosen before the third round.
7. COLT BRENNAN
Hawaii
Comment: He played for a school whose program helped him inflate his stats. There's no doubt he's got talent, seeing as how he set the touchdown record and all, but I don't think he has all the intangibles that the greats need. Look at what happened against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl: he got embarrassed with the rest of his team. Look for this overrated, pretty boy to go in the later rounds.
8. DENNIS DIXON
Oregon
Comment: If he didn't tear his ACL last year, he would be much higher on this list. The guy can run, throw and generally knows how to be a big time QB. He threw 20 touchdowns and only four interceptions for the Ducks last season, which is saying a lot as the Pac-10 is legit. Some character issues have been raised regarding him as well; expect to see DD go in the later rounds.
9. MATT FLYNN
Oregon
Comment: It's not easy to step in for a QB who was The Man (JaMarcus Russell), but Flynn did his best. Matty threw for 2,407 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season as Russell's replacement. He completed 56.3 percent, but I'm not sold on him as a big-time QB. Expect to see Flynn taken in the later rounds.
10. ERIK AINGE
Tennessee
Comment: He's a natural athlete that knows how to win and can make big plays. However, he is inconsistent at times and gets sloppy with fundamentals. Ainge is most likely a boom or bust, expect to see him gone in the middle-to-later rounds.
