It's that time of the year again. The NFL draft is just around the corner: we drool over 40-yard dash times, gasp at linemen benching 225 pounds and sit down and watch, perhaps, the most boring televised event of the year. This year's draft boasts quite a few high profile names. Who will be this year's Adrian Peterson? Read on to find out:

1. DESEAN JACKSON
California
Comment: Granted, he doesn't have the ideal size an NFL receiver should coming out of the draft (5-9, 169), however Steve Smith (5-9, 185) wasn't the biggest guy either and he turned out to be pretty good. The bottom line is, despite his size, Jackson is the best receiver in the draft. He's a top 25 pick, possibly headed to the Titans.

2. DEVIN THOMAS
Michigan State
Comment: Thomas ran a 4.32 40-yard dash at 215 pounds. That's saying something. He also recorded 75 catches for 1,226 yards and eight touchdowns his senior year as a Spartan. This guy is a first-rounder, possibly headed to the Eagles who need a big-time receiver.

3.LIMAS SWEED
Texas
Comment: Sweed ran a 4.6 40-yard dash and has a 37.5 inch vertical leap. He's a sure first-rounder and probably won't be leaving the Lone Star State — the Cowboys reportedly have their eyes set on him.

4. MALCOLM KELLY
Oklahoma
Comment: Some of his teammates questioned his work ethic after a thigh injury last season, but Kelly did put up decent numbers (62 catches, 993 yards and 10 scores). He has good size (6-3, 224) and most likely will be a first- or second-rounder.

5. EARLY DOUCET
LSU
Comment: He's got decent size, but his Pro Day numbers were pathetic. To make matters worse, he didn't run or do drills at the combine. He could have been a sure first-rounder, but his display in Indy dropped him to the second round, possibly to the San Francisco 49ers.

6. JAMES HARDY
Indiana
Comment: He's got good size and speed and put up solid numbers at the combine. The only thing that has raised questions about him is his character. James is most likely to go early in the second round. The New York Jets have expressed their interest in Hardy.

7. EDDIE ROYAL
Virginia Tech
Comment: Eddie had a great day at the combine and looked good at Pro Day. However, he's not a first-rounder and could fall as far as the third round, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are likely to scoop him up.

8. MARIO MANNINGHAM
Michigan
Comment: He had a terrible combine and dropped a lot of passes against Ohio State, but he did register good numbers last season (72 catches, 1,174 yards and 12 touchdowns). It's a shame because he slipped from a sure first-rounder after the 2006 season to a third-rounder this year. He could be headed to the St. Louis Rams, who are in need of a receiver.

9. PAUL HUBBARD
Wisconsin
Comment: Hubbard really made a name for himself during Pro Day, running a 4.38 40-yard dash and posting a 39.5 vertical leap. Did I mention he's 6-2, 221 pounds? This guy could be a great player in the NFL someday, but right now Paul will probably go in fourth round. Don't be surprised if he winds up in with the Buffalo Bills.

10. LAVELLE HAWKINS
California
Comment: He ran a 4.56 40-yard dash and checks in at 187 pounds. That's not exactly a scouts' dream. He played some good ball at the Senior Bowl, but he's still a fifth-rounder. The New York Giants, who are in need of an eventual successer for Amani Toomer, might be interested.
