POSTED 10-11-07

Our weekly digest of everything fantasy football. Facts don't lie and The Huddle is full of 'em. Projections for the week of Oct. 12-Oct. 15. Stats through Oct. 10:

GUS FREROTTE
St. Louis Rams, QB
Comment: Forget about that play ten years ago when he almost broke his neck head-butting the wall at RFK after scoring on a one-yard touchdown run. Last Sunday, Frerotte showed he can still play with the best of 'em by stepping in for the injured Marc Bulger and throwing for 262 yards and three touchdowns against the Cardinals.

KENTON KEITH
Indianapolis Colts, RB
Comment: Keith rushed for 121 yards on 28 carries and scored two touchdowns last week against the Bucs despite the fact that I’ve never heard of him.

PLAXICO BURRESS
New York Giants, WR
Comment: Burress caught five passes for 124 yards and a score against the stadium-poaching Jets. Every last one of his yards came after the half, not bad for a guy with an alleged ankle injury.

BENJAMIN WATSON
New England Patriots, TE
Comment: Watson caught six passes for 107 yards and two scores last week against the Browns. Those two touchdowns put him at five on the year and place him in a tie for second-most in the NFL.

KRIS BROWN
Houston Texans, K
Comment: Brown looked impressive in going five-for-five on field goal attempts, including a 50-plus yarder to win the game. Last week against the Dolphins could have been the greatest game a fantasy kicker ever put together, three FGs from 50-plus yards, one from 40-49 and one from 1-39 yards out. I'll take it.

BUFFALO BILLS
Defense
Comment: The Bills defense picked Tony Romo off five times. Their D scored on two interceptions and their special teams scored on a kick-off return, that's never happened before in the history of the NFL.

CHAD PENNINGTON
New York Jets, QB
Comment: The struggling quarterback threw for a season high 3 interceptions on Sunday. Reports are swirling that he might get acquainted with the bench very well for the second half against the Birds if he doesn't man-up.

RON DAYNE
Houston Texans, RB
Comment: Dayne rushed 16 times for 40 yards and added one catch for another five yards. With the improving health of Ahman Green's knee, Dayne might not get as many carries.

LAVERANUES COLES
New York Jets, WR
Comment: Coles had eight catches for 89 yards against the G-Men, both season-highs. It's not his fault that his numbers aren't there, after all, his quarterback is Chad Pennington.

BUBBA FRANKS
Green Bay Packers, TE
Comment: If you add up all the receiving yards Franks has in the Packers' five games, it doesn't total 100 yards. He only has two touchdowns and has never scored ten fantasy points in a game this season. With the option of Donald Lee at tight end, Franks doesn't stack up and isn't worth it.

OLINDO MARE
New Orleans Saints, K
Comment: He is three-for-seven on field goal attempts this year and has not made a kick more than 40 yards yet. Rumors have said that Mare might be cut by the end of the week.

BUFFALO BILLS
Defense
Comment:The Bills defense picked Tony Romo off five times. Their D scored on two interceptions and their special teams scored on a kick-off return, that's never happened before in a single game in the history of the NFL...AND THEY STILL MANAGED TO LOSE THE GAME!!!

KURT WARNER
Arizona Cardinals, QB
Comment: With Leinart out for the season, Warner will be taking all the snaps. With him running the show, you'll get a veteran quarterback who knows how to put up points and numbers.

CARSON PALMER
Cincinnati Bengals, QB
Comment:The Chiefs' D hasn't played a legit offense (besides the Chargers) and is very much overrated. Palmer is going to scalp the Chiefs and expose their weakness.

LADANIAN TOMLINSON
San Diego Chargers, RB
Comment: Tomlinson has averaged a personal best 121 yards and a touchdown in each game he's played against the Raiders in his career. Don't expect that to change and start L.T.

RONNIE BROWN
Miami Dolphins, RB
Comment: Brown has rushed for 100-plus yards and a touchdown in each of the past three games. This guy is on an unbelievable hot streak; facing the Browns D will only add fuel to that fire.

RANDY MOSS
New England Patriots, WR
Comment: Out of the Pats first five games, Moss was held to under 100 yards receiving just once and is tied for the league-best seven TDs. He will test the sketchy Cowboys secondary that is coming off of a short week of practice.

PLAXICO BURRESS
New York Giants, WR
Comment: Burress exploded for 124 yards in the second half last week against the Jets. Expect a showing of equal or greater value on national TV against the Falcons Monday night.

TONY GONZALEZ
Kansas City Chiefs, TE
Comment: T-Gone finally broke 100-yards receiving last week against the Jags. Expect more out of him this week against the Bungles and their lack-luster defense.

KELLEN WINSLOW
Cleveland Browns, TE
Comment: Winslow is consistent and will get you the points, especially this week against a Dolphins secondary that leaves a lot to the imagination.

KRIS BROWN
Houston Texans, K
Comment: Brown converted three field goals of 50-plus yards last week, one with the game on the line. How can you argue with that?

NICK FOLK
Dallas Cowboys, K
Comment: Folk kicked a 53 yarder to win the game, twice, against Buffalo. He proved he has ice-water running through his veins; you'd be foolish not to start him.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Defense
Comment: New England is going to shut Tony Romo down, you heard it here first. The Pats will find a way to stop 'Big D'.

CHICAGO BEARS
Defense
Comment: The Bears defense looked like a revamped team last week. Expect them to show up again for another divisional match up this week.

CHAD PENNINGTON
New York Jets, QB
Comment: Pennington has been playing like trash and word around the campfire is Kellen Clemens might start the second half against the Iggles if he doesn't straighten up and fly right.

ELI MANNING
New York Giants, QB
Comment: The Falcons actually have a decent pass defense (11th in the league). Expect Manning to win the game, but not put up stellar numbers in the process.

BRIAN WESTBROOK
Philadelphia Eagles, RB
Comment: Westbrook is still hurting and it is unclear if he'll play against the Jets. If he does play, he probably will not have great numbers.

MARION BARBER
Dallas Cowboys, RB
Comment: Barber's role has been decreasing each week. Even if he does get a lot of touches, don't expect him to do much with the ball against the Pats and their stingy defense.

ANDRE JOHNSON
Houston Texans, WR
Comment: He has been practicing, but he doesn't sound too optimistic about playing this week, according to reports from various websites.

STEVE SMITH
Carolina Panthers, WR
Comment: With Delhomme out and Carr dinged up, who is going to throw him the ball?

JEREMY SHOCKEY
New York Giants, TE
Comment: Don't expect Shockey to set-it-off against an underrated Falcons secondary.

ALGE CRUMPLER
Atlanta Hawks, TE
Comment: Crumpler had only two catches last week and three the week before that. The same rules that apply to Steve Smith can be used here, the Falcons don't have a QB to get him the ball.

MASON CROSBY
Green Bay Packers, K
Comment: Crosby has been phenomenal up to this point. But he's due for a clunker game. Call it a gut feeling.

ROBBIE GOULD
Chicago Bears, K
Comment: Gould had two kicks taken back last week via penalties. That can get inside your head, don't be shocked if Robbie shanks a few this week.

DALLAS COWBOYS
Defense
Comment: Dallas will not be able to stop Moss, Brady and Co. The coaching staff is too good for New England and they will not be stopped, period.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Defense
Comment: Favre is going to throw like his life depends on it. If he is on and you have the Skins D, don't say you haven't been warned.

Arizona Cardinals running back Edgerrin James has received the bulk of carries this season.

20 Arizona Cardinals running back Edgerrin James has averaged 20 or more carries in each of his games this year.

4 Cincinnati Bengals wideout T.J. Houshmandzadeh has scored in each of the Bengals four games this season.

2 Two times in five games the Steelers defense have allowed double-digit scoring from their opponent.

1 One time this season Kansas City Chiefs Tony Gonzalez has fond the endzone.

KENTON KEITH
Indianapolis Colts, RB
Comment: Keith had 121 yards on 28 carries last week. He seemingly came out of nowhere and exploded on the scene. Even though he has a bye this week, expect him to come back strong in Week 7 against the Jags.

TOM BRADY
vs. Tony Romo
Comment: Who will win this battle of the top two gunslingers? The smart money is on Brady, but hey, that's why they play the games.

LADAINIAN TOMLINSON
vs. Oakland Raiders Defense
Comment: Tomlinson has only broken 100 yards rushing once this year. The Oakland D is underrated, so this will be an exciting game.

DALLAS
vs. New England
Comment: The battle of two undefeated teams! Whose record will remain unblemished? Who will get to wear the crown of best team? Only time will tell.

DEION BRANCH
Seattle Seahawks, WR
Comment: Branch will miss at least the next two starts with a mild-foot sprain. That could be bad news if you have him on your team.

JAKE DELHOMME
Carolina Panthers, QB
Comment: Delhomme was put on the IR due to his elbow. He will not be eligible to play for the rest of the season, plan accordingly.

TRENT GREEN
Miami Dolphins, QB
Comment: Green suffered the worst kind of concussion on Sunday, who knows if he'll ever step back on the field. Between the hit he took last year and this one, his brain might be scrambled.

T.J. HOUSHMANDZADEH
Cincinnati Bengals, WR
Comment: Housh' should be good to go this week. His knee will be fine after the Bengals bye week. Let it be noted that he has scored in each of his team's four games this year.

BRIAN WESTBROOK
Philadelhia Eagles, RB
Comment: Smith is definitely out for Sunday but he is waiting for an MRI that could have him out for the whole season.

PATRIOTS @ COWBOYS

Sunday, 4:15 p.m. ET (CBS-TV)
The duel in Dallas — this is a game for the ages between two unbeatens. You can't say enough about this one, it's destined to be a classic. Tune in or don't ever call yourself a football fan again.
