POSTED 11-2-07

Our weekly digest of everything fantasy football. Facts don't lie and The Huddle is full of 'em. Projections for the week of Nov. 1-Nov. 5. Stats through Oct. 31:

DONOVAN MCNABB
Philadelphia Eagles, QB
Comment: D-Mac threw for 333 yards and a touchdown last week against the Vikings. Since Philly's bye week, McNabb has decent numbers and a touchdown each week. Who knows if that trend will continue this week when division rivals Dallas come to the Linc?

JOSEPH ADDAI
Indianapolis Colts, RB
Comment: Addai had 100 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries and a receiving touchdowns last week against Carolina. He's getting hot going into the matchup of the year with the Pats.

BRAYLON EDWARDS
Cleveland Browns, WR
Comment: Edwards caught eight passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns last week. He and quarterback Derek Anderson have been on fire lately with five receiving touchdowns in their team's last two games. When you practice 14 months during a leap year, like he does, expect results.

ANTONIO GATES
San Diego Chargers, TE
Comment: No other tight end in the league has been as consistent as Gates. He caught three passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Texans. Don't expect Minnesota to put a stop to that trend.

PHIL DAWSON
Cleveland Browns, K
Comment: For a fantasy kicker, he has been pretty good. Dawson has amassed double-digit points in each of his last three home games.

New England Patriots
Defense
Comment: They crushed the 'Skins last week and have not lost a game yet. We'll see if they're for real this weekend when they head to the RCA Dome to take on the Colts.

CHAD PENNINGTON
New York Jets, QB
Comment: Mangini finally stepped up and pulled the plug on Pennington's days as a starter. It was about time; what took him so long?

ADRIAN PETERSON
Minnesota Vikings, RB
Comment: He only managed 70 yards on 20 attempts with no touchdowns last week against Philly. This week he's facing the Chargers, who only give up 88.9 YPG on the ground. Expect him to stay lukewarm for another week.

PLAXICO BURRESS
New York Giants, WR
Comment: Perhaps the no-practice-thing has caught up with Plax. He hasn't been himself the last two weeks, only catching seven passes for 57 yards and no touchdowns. Those are the only two games he has been held without a score all season.

DONALD LEE
Green Bay Packers, TE
Comment: He only catches about three passes a game. There is no reason to start him when he only has one touchdown way back in Week 2.

LAWRENCE TYNES
New York Giants, K
Comment: Blame it on the jet-lag, blame it on the rainy conditions, but either way Tynes played like garbage last week in London. The G-Men have got to find a replacement for him in the worst way.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Defense
Comment: They became the latest team to fall victim to the Pats' high-powered offense. When you give up 50 points in a game, there had better be a good excuse. In this case, there was, Tom Brady.

TONY ROMO
Dallas Cowboys, QB
Comment: Romo will be tested this week against Ill-adelphia, but expect him to prove he's worth every penny of the $30 million in guaranteed money.

BRETT FAVRE
Green Bay Packers, QB
Comment: He's hot; his overtime touchdown pass against Denver last week proved it. 331 yards and two touchdowns are pretty good for a guy who has been in the league since Bush Sr. was in office. Expect more of the same from Arrowhead this weekend from The Old Gunslinger.

LADANIAN TOMLINSON
San Diego Chargers, RB
Comment: LT has been getting hot and it has nothing to do with the wildfires. Expect him to expose a Minnesota defense that is not ready for Mr. Tomlinson.

WILLIE PARKER
Pittsburgh Steelers, RB
Comment: Willie gained 126 yards on 22 carries with a touchdown last week against Cincy. If you think the Ravens will stop him this week — nevermore. Expect Parker to have a great game against Baltimore.

CHAD JOHNSON
Cincinnati Bengals, WR
Comment: He hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 2. He's clearly frustrated and due for a big game; start Ocho-Cinco and expect big things from him against the Bills.

TERRELL OWENS
Dallas Cowboys, WR
Comment: T.O. will want to have the game of his career in Philly on Sunday night. He will do everything in his power to get into that endzone; start him and expect Romo to look for Owens on the majority of the passes he throws.

TONY GONZALEZ
Kansas City Chiefs, TE
Comment: The Packers give up the second most fantasy points to TEs. T-Gone and Damon Huard are going to connect on plenty of passes when the Pack comes to town. Start him and you will not regret it.

JASON WITTEN
Dallas Cowboys, TE
Comment: Witten has a shot to catch 100 passes this season. If you have him and don't start him, than you're a fool.

MATT STOVER
Baltimore Ravens, K
Comment: Monday night will be a defensive battle. That equates to a lot of field goal attempts for kickers. This week give Stover the start.

STEPHEN GOSTKOWSKI
New England Patriots, K
Comment: When Tom Brady is your QB, you will get a lot of kicks. Granted, most of them will be PATs, but points are points.

Pittsburgh Steelers
Defense
Comment: The last time the Steelers played at home, it was a shutout. When the Ravens come into Pittsburgh, expect more of that tenacious defense Pittsburgh is known for.

Dallas Cowboys
Defense
Comment: They're playing a huge division game against the Iggles. Expect them to come out fired up and ready to pounce on McNabb. Dallas' D will get you a lot of points on Sunday night.

DREW BREES
New Orleans Saints, QB
Comment: Brees is hot, but the Jags have only given up five passing touchdowns all year. Don't expect Drew to put up those gaudy numbers this week against Jacksonville.

DONOVAN MCNABB
Philadelphia Eagles, QB
Comment: McNabb doesn’t look 100%. He's facing a tough Dallas defense that is capable of eating him alive. Avoid starting him at all costs.

MARION BARBER
Dallas Cowboys, RB
Comment: Barber is facing the eight-best run defense in Philly. Don't forget he's still splitting carries with Julius Jones. Starting Barber would not be intelligent this week.

REGGIE BUSH
New Orleans Saints, RB
Comment: He suffered bruised ribs in the victory over San Fran. Even if he plays, he probably won't get you a lot of fantasy points.

WES WELKER
New England Patriots, WR
Comment: It's absurd to think that Welker will keep up the high caliber of play he's had the past few weeks this week in Indy.

LARRY FITZGERALD
Arizona Cardinals, WR
Comment: Fitz is playing against Tampa Bay who have the second-best pass defense. It's been a revolving quarterback situation in Arizona this season and this is a bad matchup. Avoid at all costs.

BENJAMIN WATSON
New England Patriots, TE
Comment: Reports say that Watson was practicing on Wednesday. However, with that sore ankle, even if he does start he probably won't put up great numbers.

CHRIS COOLEY
Washington Redskins, TE
Comment: He's had over 35 yards receiving only once this season. Don't bother with him, even against the Jets.

DAVID AKERS
Philadelphia Eagles, K
Comment: Akers kicked three field goals in each of the last three weeks. No way that continues this week against Dallas.

MATT BRYANT
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, K
Comment: Don't expect Bryant to score many fantasy points this week against the Cards.

Minnesota Vikings
Defense
Comment: They have been impressive at some points this season, but they're facing LaDainian Tomlinson. LT will run all over the Purple People Eaters and embarrass Minnesota.

Buffalo Bills
Defense
Comment: The Bills do not have enough artillery to stop all the threats that the Bungles have. Expect Cincy to light up Buffalo and don't start the Bills D.

Andrew Corselli is UPDATE! National Football League Editor.

13.2 The Giants are allowing 13.2 PPG during their six-game win streak. They allowed 40 PPG in their two losses.

13 The Tennessee Titans have not allowed a 100-yard rusher in their last 13 games.

5 The Giants are the fifth team to win six straight after losing their first two. The last team to do it? The '93 Cowboys (12-4) who went on to win the Super Bowl.

2 The Detroit Lions swept a season series against the Bears for only the second time in the last 10 years.

KELLEN CLEMENS
Tennessee Titans, K
Comment: The best decision Mangini ever made was benching Pennington. This Sunday marks a new era in Jets football, start Clemens this week so you don't have to jump on the bandwagon next week.

ADALIUS THOMAS
vs. Dallas Clark
Comment: This matchup is just one of the many reasons to watch the NE-IND game on Sunday afternoon. This one should be a good-old-fashioned, smash-mouth football game.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
vs. Dallas Cowboys
Comment: A classic NFC East battle. When these two teams get together, it never disappoints.

TOM BRADY
vs. Peyton Manning
Comment: Arguably two of the greatest quarterbacks ever square off on Sunday. This could be a classic that we see for years to come. Enjoy every minute of it.

LAVERNEOUS COLES
New York Jets, WR
Comment: Mangini said Wednesday that Coles suffered a concussion last week. He has not said if Coles will be in or out on Sunday, but with the severity of concussions these days, it's not a safe bet.

FRANK GORE
San Francisco 49ers, RB
Comment: Gore injured his left ankle in the third quarter last Sunday, and it is unclear as to whether he will play this week.

MATT SCHAUB
Houston Texans, QB
Comment: Coach Kubiak said that Schaub won't play due to his concussion. Sage Rosenfels will fill in for the injured Schaub.

ALEX SMITH
Tampa Buccaneers, QB
Comment: Gruden said he doesn't expect Smith to play on Sunday against the Cardinals.

BENJAMIN WATSON
New England Patriots, TE
Comment: Watson participated in practice on Wednesday and reports say he was moving well. Expect him to play on Sunday, but how well will he play is the question.
