POSTED 12-20-07

Our weekly digest of everything fantasy football. Facts don't lie and The Huddle is full of 'em. Projections for the week of Dec. 21-Dec. 25. Stats through Dec. 20:

DREW BREES
New Orleans Saints, QB
Comment: Drew has thrown for over 640 yards and five touchdowns the last two weeks. The only reason the Saints are still alive so late in the season is because of this guy.

FRED TAYLOR
Jacksonville Jaguars, RB
Comment: No running back has been hotter than Taylor, who has 487 yards and three touchdowns over the last four weeks. He broke the 1,000-yard mark for the seventh time in his storied career and revitalized the Jaguars as they made their playoff push. Nobody wants to face this guy right now.

REGGIE WILLIAMS
Jacksonville Jaguars, WR
Comment: He had only one catch for three yards last week, but it was a touchdown. You can expect him to expand those numbers and have a great game against Oakland.

JASON WITTEN
Dallas Cowboys, TE
Comment: He had over 110 yards receiving the last two games. Witten has been the best tight end in the league this season. Don't expect his numbers to fall, despite Romo's thumb injury.

JASON ELAM
Denver Broncos, K
Comment: Elam is consistent, he's averaged 10 fantasy points each week for the past six weeks.

NEW YORK JETS
Defense
Comment: Yes, they did lose. Yes, they gave up 20 points. But they were playing the Patriots, a team that was favored by over 20 points. New England didn't even score as high as the spread was. It may not have been a victory on paper, but you can chalk up a moral victory of sorts.

TOM BRADY
New England Patriots, QB
Comment: Brady could only muster 140 yards passing against the New York Jets. To make matters worse, he didn't even record a touchdown. What a scrub. In addition to those unforgivable acts, Tommy Boy was even, gasp, intercepted once!

JOSEPH ADDAI
Indianapolis Colts, RB
Comment: He managed only 44 yards on 15 carries last week against Oakland Raiders. He was stymied and the Colts barely managed to win.

TERRELL OWENS
Dallas Cowboys, WR
Comment: T.O. had just five catches for 58 yards the last two weeks. He cannot be happy about that; any bets on how long it will take him to throw Tony Romo under the bus?

TONY GONZALEZ
Kansas City Chiefs, TE
Comment: His numbers have been erratic week to week; if not for the few bad games he's had, he could be one of the best tight ends in the game.

DAVID AKERS
Philadelphia Eagles, K
Comment: Dave is 4-for-7 on his last seven field goals attempts. He's becoming inconsistent, but that's just the way it goes when you've been in Philly too long.

DALLAS COWBOYS
Defense
Comment: They lost to the Eagles. Isn't Dallas supposed to be the best team in the NFC? That shouldn't happen, especially after surrendering just 10 points.

TOM BRADY
New England Patriots, QB
Comment: If you think that terrible performance against the Jets didn't kill Brady a little inside, you're wrong. Expect him and The Hooded One to exact revenge on the Miami Dolphins and embarrass them worse than the rest of the league has.

DEREK ANDERSON
Cleveland Browns, QB
Comment: The Browns are playing Cincy. Anderson's coming out party was Week 2 against these same Bungles when he threw for 328 yards and five scores. Expect him to duplicate that this week. Start Anderson and you should have no worries.

LADANIAN TOMLINSON
San Diego Chargers, RB
Comment: Tomlinson has three-straight 100-plus yard efforts, racking up the fantasy points in all formats. No running back has been hotter than L.T. as of late...must be that new Vizio!

MARION BARBER
Dallas Cowboys, RB
Comment: With Romo's thumb in question, the Cowboys will run a lot more. This means more fantasy stats for Barber.

BRANDON MARSHALL
Denver Broncos, WR
Comment: Marshall has back-to-back 100-yard efforts and two touchdowns in the process. He's been hot and may get even hotter against a sketchy San Diego Padres defense.

ANDRE JOHNSON
Houston Texans, WR
Comment: Johnson has been a fantasy monster this season when healthy. He might have even challenged Randy Moss and Terrell Owens for tops in the league if his knee hadn't blown up, causing him to miss some serious time. He's back and proving himself to be the most consistent wide receiver in the league on an inconsistent team.

KELLEN WINSLOW
Cleveland Browns, TE
Comment: He had a bad game against the Buffalo Bills in the Snow-Bowl, but expect that to change this week. Because when you're playing Cincy, everybody scores!

DONALD LEE
Green Bay Packers, TE
Comment: He has two touchdowns the last two weeks; he could multiply that by a lot when the Pack travel to Soldier Field this weekend.

MATT BRYANT
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, K
Comment: With the Bucs scoring many points each week, Bryant is a must have.

STEPHEN GOSTKOWSKI
New England Patriots, K
Comment: The Pats are facing the one-win Dolphins. Gostkowski could get over ten points in extra points alone.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Defense
Comment: They're playing the Houston Texans, who're playing a second-string quarterback and running back. Start them and enjoy the feast.

GREEN BAY PACKERS
Defense
Comment: The Packers are facing Kyle Orton under center. The only thing that could make this match up better is if Sexy Rexy was still manning quarterback duties.

BRETT FAVRE
Green Bay Packers, QB
Comment: With a playoff spot clinched, you can expect the Pack to focus on the run and let Favre heal by not throwing so much. Obviously, that will take away from his stats, steer clear of starting Brett.

KURT WARNER
Arzona Cardinals, QB
Comment: Warner has been on a hot streak as of late, but the Dirty Birds will put an end to that. Expect the Falcons, and their 12th-ranked pass defense to shut him down.

CLINTON PORTIS
Washington Redskins, RB
Comment: Portis rushed for over 100 yards against the G-Men. Don't expect him to duplicate that against a tough Minnesota Vikings defense. He's not going to get more than 60 yards rushing and it'd be a surprise if he found the end zone.

ADRIAN PETERSON
Minnesota Vikings, RB
Comment: He has only 81 yards the last two weeks. He's inconsistent, but when he's on, he's on! The Washington Redskins will stop him and continue their push towards the playoffs.

PLAXICO BURRESS
New York Giants, WR
Comment: Burress had just three catches for 35 yards last week, in addition to many drops. Maybe the no-practice thing has caught up with him.

TORRY HOLT
St. Louis Rams, WR
Comment: Big-Game-Torry-Holt had a measly three catches for 31 yards last week, albeit one of them was a touchdown. Don't expect his numbers to skyrocket this week against a tough Pittsburgh Steelers defense.

CHRIS COOLEY
Washington Redskins, TE
Comment: Cooley only had two catches for 34 yards last week. He'll have to stay at home to block against a tough Minnesota defense, so don't expect gaudy numbers from Cooley this week.

ANTONIO GATES
San Diego Chargers, TE
Comment: He only had one catch for eight yards last week. When LaDainian Tomlinson is on, Gates is obsolete.

ROBBIE GOULD
Chicago Bears, K
Comment: With Kyle Orton at quarterback, the Bears may never get in field goal range the whole game.

NICK FOLK
Dallas Cowboys, K
Comment: With the Cowboys erratic offense last week, who knows if Folk will get many kicking opportunities?

MIAMI DOLPHINS
Defense
Comment: They're playing the New England Patriots. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

OAKLAND RAIDERS
Defense
Comment: The Jaguars have proven they're a team to beat these last few weeks. Fred Taylor has been nigh unstoppable, and the Jags will roll right over the Raiders porous defense.

Andrew Corselli is UPDATE! National Football League Editor.

61,405 Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre threw for 227 yards against the St. Louis Rams last week. That total made him the NFLs all-time leading passer with 61,405 yards.

36 Before Indianapolis' 21-14 win over the Oakland Raiders, the Colts hadn't won a game in Oakland since 1971 — 36 years ago.

12 Only one team has won 12-plus games in five consecutive seasons. The 2007 Indianapolis Colts are the only team to do it.

1 New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady failed to throw a touchdown last week against the Jets. This was the first time this season Brady failed to find the end zone.

SAGE ROSENFELS
Houston Texans, QB
Comment: He's put up some big numbers recently, so if he's still available it would be wise to pick him up.

BILL BELICHICK
vs. CAM CAMERON
Comment: Two teams at opposite ends of the football spectrum. One is trying to go undefeated and one is trying to win its second game of the season.

ELI MANNING
vs. Bills Secondary
Comment: It will be fun to see if Younger Brother can overcome his own shortcomings to win a game the Giants desperately need.

CLINTON PORTIS
vs. Minnesota defense
Comment: He rushed for 100 yards last week against the Giants. Now, let's see if he can do it against a real defense.

REGGIE BUSH
New Orleans Saints, RB
Comment: Bush practiced on Wednesday and could see some time against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. It's not likely, but stranger things have happened.

TONY ROMO
Dallas Cowboys, QB
Comment: He hurt his thumb last week and is listed as a game-time decision

JEREMY SHOCKEY
New York Giants, TE
Comment: Shockey broke his leg and hurt his ankle. He's on the IR and undergoing surgery this week.

STEVE SMITH
Carolina Panthers, QB
Comment: Smith missed practice on Tuesday, but no word as of yet in regards to his status for the weekend's games.

LADANIAN TOMLINSON
San Diego Chargers, RB
Comment: Tomlinson tweaked his hamstring last week. Coach Norv Turner said it's not a concern and the RB will play.

PATRIOTS vs. DOLPHINS

Sunday, 4:15 p.m. ET (CBS-TV)
The Dolphins will take their one-game winning streak into Foxboro where the Pats will attempt to stay unbeaten.
